Even the biggest goals can be broken down into smaller parts to make them easier to handle.
- A task as a whole may seem very difficult or almost impossible, but by taking small steps one after another, we realize that in practice everything is much simpler.
- For example: lose 25kg. That is just 500 grams over the course of each week for a year. Is losing half a kilo difficult? Not at all; even if you have a slow metabolism, most people can lose 500 grams per week.
- Or read 50 books. Read 1 book each week over the next year.
- Meet 500 people to discuss new opportunities. That is only 2 people a day, 5 days a week, throughout the year.
- Learn a new language? Learn 5 to 10 new words each day. By the end of the year, you will know 1500-3000 words in a new language.
Is everything really that simple? Where is the problem?
The problem is that the probability of failure is comparable to that of success. Success is easy, but failure is also very easy. And in life we have to choose between two kinds of “easy” — easy to do or easy not to do.
Share this knowledge with your friends. Perhaps things will become “easier” for them too.
