The Sphinx: is a monolithic statue with a human head and a lion’s body lying in a guarding posture near the temple of Pharaoh Khafre on the Giza plateau. Luxor Temple: The temple was built to worship 3 gods: Amun, Mut and Chons. In front of the temple stands an Obelisk built by Pharaoh Ramesses II. The main entrance was once decorated on both sides by 4 seated statues and 2 giant standing statues of Ramesses II. Today only 2 statues remain, still sitting majestically like manifestations of living saints.
Karnak Temple: It is considered the largest ancient temple in Egypt and also the largest open-air museum in the world. Sculptures, dozens of stone statues, sphinxes and a great hall with 136 giant stone columns have remained standing for thousands of years.
