Low activity is a passive lifestyle in which physical activity is minimal or entirely absent. Unfortunately, not only people whose jobs require them to sit in an office, but also homemakers, retirees and children may lead a sedentary lifestyle. A sedentary lifestyle means the absence of activities such as walking, running, active games, active recreation, etc.
Low physical activity leads people, often young people, to develop many serious and chronic illnesses that previously occurred mainly in older patients. Most notably, methods of combating them bring almost no results.
We are talking about the following conditions:
- Obesity
- Heart dysfunction
- Brittle bones and muscle tissue atrophy
- Diabetes mellitus, negatively affecting the digestive system
- Aging of the body
- Mental disorders
- Disorders of the musculoskeletal system
- Constipation, leading to hemorrhoids
- Erectile dysfunction (prostatitis, male infertility.)
- What can we do?
Choose a type of physical activity that suits you personally and can fit naturally into your daily life. You do not need to exhaust yourself at the gym; you can start by getting off the bus a few stops before work or parking farther away and walking the rest of the way. Cycling, swimming, hiking, morning exercise, yoga, running, horseback riding — there are many ways to maintain your health while also getting positive emotions from the process. The important thing is to find activities that suit you.
